Azerbaijan, Digital Cooperation Organization expand cooperation

On October 5, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with a delegation led by Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Deemah AlYahya.
The meeting discussed prospects for expanding Azerbaijan–DCO cooperation following Azerbaijan’s accession to the organization this year, with a focus on digital transformation, innovation, artificial intelligence, the digital economy and the startup ecosystem.
FM Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan regards digital development, innovation and the adoption of new technologies as key areas of its economic development and international cooperation. He highlighted the country’s efforts to develop the digital economy, improve digital infrastructure, promote innovative solutions and expand the use of artificial intelligence.
The sides also exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s contribution to energy security and projects aimed at ensuring the reliable transportation of energy resources through diversified routes. It was noted that Azerbaijan plays an active role in regional and international energy cooperation and that the development of energy infrastructure and transport routes contributes to strengthening economic ties among countries. The meeting highlighted the use of advanced digital technologies in this area.
The meeting also emphasized Azerbaijan’s contribution to developing regional transport and communication links, improving the efficiency of international transport corridors and expanding transit opportunities. Discussions also underscored the importance of digital technologies and optimized logistics processes.
DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya provided an overview of the organization’s activities, highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements in digital development and expressed the DCO’s interest in further developing cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including current international and regional developments.
