Azerbaijani, Nigerian FMs hold phone talk

On October 5, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
During the conversation, the ministers reviewed the prospects of Azerbaijan-Nigeria bilateral relations, the issues of mutual concern, as well as the cooperation agenda within multilateral platforms.
In this regard, the FMs underscored the importance of collaboration in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, as well as fostering mutual support and coordination within these platforms.
Minister Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan views relations with African countries as one of the top priorities of its foreign policy. In this vein, he stressed the significance of advancing collaboration with Nigeria in political, economic, humanitarian, and other domains, also highlighting the opportunities provided for Nigerian nationals by Azerbaijan’s Intergovernmental Scholarship Program.
The conversation also addressed other topical issues on regional and global agenda.
