Gabala hosts mugham and chamber music concerts

Baku, July 30 (AZERTAC). “Mugham evening” and a chamber music concert were held as part of the 3rd Gabala International Music Festival organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The chamber music concert, held on Friday, featured music pieces by Gaetano Donizetti, Gioachino Rossini and Salvatore Cardillo.

Soloists of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Sabina Asadova (mezzo-soprano) and Farida Mammadova (soprano), student of Italy`s Opera Art International Academy after Debaldi and Monaco Javid Samadov (bariton) and student of Italy`s Ozino Music Academy Azer Rzazade (tenor) performed in the concert.

The festival continued with a concert by laureates of “Mugham- 2011” TV contest watched by a 1,000-man audience of local and foreign guests.

The official opening ceremony of the 3rdGabala International Music Festival will be held today.

The Symphony Orchestra of New Russia head by Yuri Bashmet will perform in the opening ceremony.
