Gilavar Photo Club showcases three diverse photo exhibitions at WUF13
Baku, May 21, AZERTAC
As part of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), the “Gilavar Photo Club” Public Association has launched a large-scale visual art project by opening a photo exhibition covering three different themes on the same day.
The first of the exhibitions honored the winners of the “My Urban World” photo contest, held jointly with UN-Habitat within the framework of the “Azerbaijan Urban Campaign.”
The exhibition provided visitors with the opportunity to observe the dynamics of modern urban life and the various shades of urbanization through the perspective of photographers.
Supported by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, two other exhibitions were held: one dedicated to mine victims in Azerbaijan, and the other to the large-scale reconstruction process in the liberated territories, reflecting the country’s post-conflict realities.
Rashad Mehdiyev, Chairman of the “Gilavar” Photo Club Public Union, stressed the importance of the project, noting that the club simultaneously showcased the rhythm of modern urban life, the heavy traces of urbanicide, the recovery process in the liberated territories, and the stories of landmine victims on a prestigious global platform like WUF13.
In total, more than 50 photographs across all three exhibitions captivated international visitors.
