II International book fair opens in Baku
Baku, September 28 (AZERTAC). The II International Book Fair dedicated to the 20th anniversary of state independence of Azerbaijan today opened at the Baku Sports Complex organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The fair brings together representatives of 120 local, 35 foreign polygraphic enterprises from 25 world countries.
Addressing the opening ceremony vice-premier of Azerbaijan Elchin Efendiyev said organizing book fairs has become a tradition in the country. Samples of books give certain presentation about the culture, history, literature and present day of country.
The Fair will last till September 30, minister of culture and tourism Abulfas Garayev said. At his words, the Fair is supported by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Similar events will be organized in Baku every two years what will promote improvement of publishing-polygraphic institutions in the country, Garayev underlined.
“Such book fairs will also be organized in regions of Azerbaijan”, he stressed.
