Istanbul hosts 51st OANA Executive Board meeting

Hosted by Anadolu News Agency, the 51st Executive Board meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) has been held today in Istanbul with the member news agencies in attendance.
Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) - vice-president of OANA and member of the Executive Board, attended the meeting.
In their remarks, Anadolu Agency’s Director General Sardar Karagoz and IRNA Managing Director Ali Naderi highlighted directions of improving OANA’s activities and urged members to be active in this regard.
The conference participants also heard and adopted financial and technical reports of the organization. The speakers noted that the IRNA agency has developed the new project of the OANA website and the portal is expected to be launched soon.
Then, the winners of the "OANA Award" were announced, with China's Xinhua agency taking the first place.
As decided by the members of the Executive Board, the next meeting will be hosted by the Kyodo News of Japan in March of 2024.
Following the meeting, the Istanbul Declaration was adopted.
