JAPANESE COMPANIES SHOW MORE INTEREST IN AZERBAIJAN

After the official visit by President Ilham Aliyev to the land of the rising sun, Azerbaijan has become more attractive for Japanese companies. According to the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Japan, Ambassador Azer Huseyn is currently negotiating ITOCHU Corporation on feasibility of the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway project addressed by President Ilham Aliyev during the visit. Representatives of ITOCHU and its partner Pacific Consultant International’ will reportedly be visiting Azerbaijan from April 22 to 27 to familiarize themselves with the state of the railway, including bridges and tunnels along it, and meet with the representatives of the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry and other related structures.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Japanese company EBARA engaged in reproduction of domestic waste and processing technology are now staying in Azerbaijan to discuss construction of the waste reprocessing plant and propose relevant projects. Companies specializing in this area were invited to Azerbaijan also during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit Japan.
