JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND KAZAKHSTAN
The Heads of State have made statements.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev described the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan economic relations as those of very high level, and stressed the significance of the projects on transportation of energy resources to be realized in the future. He said after having been completed, the Baku-Astana project will allowed transporting Kazakh oil to the world market through a shorter route, and that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline would play a key role in that. Mr. Nazarbayev pointed out as well the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan useful cooperation in the frameworks of the international organizations, which according to him, has good perspectives. “The documents signed today will help to bring the bilateral relations up to a higher level,” President Nazarbayev said.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev once again thanked President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan, and said this visit would lay the foundation of a new stage in bilateral relations. He noted that after independence, the countries have brought their relationship up to the level of strategic partnership, and pointed out the great services in this regard of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. “Building of democratic state in both countries and creating wide perspectives for cooperation have become possible exactly thanks to them,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
Pointing out the high level of economic relations, especially in energy sphere, President Ilham Aliyev noted that further development of the cooperation would bring the two peoples and countries to welfare and progress. “Expanding of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation fully meets the two countries interests,” he said. The Head of State emphasized as well that as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he would do follow Heydar Aliyev’s policy of rapprochement with Kazakhstan, and do his best for the relationship to be brought up to a higher level.
