MEETING OF MINISTERS OF HEALTH OF THE CIS COUNTRIES HELD IN MOSCOW
Ministers have gathered before the summit of leaders of the “big eight” which will pass in St. Petersburg under presidency of Russia where, alongside with global questions of power safety, a number of other problems will be considered, in particular, public health services. And it has given certain spirit to the agenda of a meeting of the ministers: it includes such transnational problems as coordinated actions to prevent spread of “bird flu”, HIV-infection and other dangerous infectious diseases.

Results of the meeting of Ministers of Health of the CIS will be presented to the summit of “the big eight”, Minister Ortag Shiraliyev told AZERTAC correspondent, and then, be developed common tactics of combat against infectious diseases. Problems of spread of infectious diseases are necessary to solve together, with efforts of the frontier states. Speaking about it, O. Shiraliev has emphasized: “We, from our part, have offered some amendments to the common program of actions, basing on our experience, in particular, in solving of the “bird flu” problem with which Azerbaijan has faced recently. Now, there is no threat of the “ bird's flu” in Azerbaijan, however, this question is necessary for holding under steadfast attention”, the Minister has told.
