Mexican ambassador visits Nakhchivan

On April 24, Jeyhun Jalilov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, met with Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, Mexican Ambassador to the country.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Mexican States, rooted in friendship and trust, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
The parties emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During the discussions, the parties expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached within the framework of the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. They also mentioned the importance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as an important strategic region in establishing communications along the Middle Corridor.
The meeting also highlighted the economic potential of the region, as well as renewable energy opportunities, the importance of 10-year exemption from taxes applied to entrepreneurs, and efforts to transform it into a free economic zone in the future.
The meeting addressed the prospects for cooperation between Nakhchivan and leading higher education institutions of Mexico. The sides exchanged views on the signing of memoranda, the dual diploma programs, the organization of student and academic exchanges, as well as the implementation of joint academic and scientific projects.
The parties also discussed the cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, expressing their confidence in maintaining fruitful cooperation in the future.
Ambassador Maria Victoria Romero Caballero said the purpose of the visit was to familiarize herself with Nakhchivan and participate in the presentation of the exhibition "Diego Rivera: The Promise of a Better Future."
