MIKHAIL FRADKOV APPOINTED AS PREMIER OF RUSSIA
According to the Russian legislation, at the regular plenary sitting of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of RF, the parliamentarians with a majority of votes approved candidacy of Mikhail Fradkov who was proposed to the post of Premier.
As expected, in favor of the candidacy of Mikhail Fradkov voted 352 deputies when there were necessary 226 votes, while 58 were against and 24 abstained.
It should be noted that in his remarks before the Russian parliamentarians, Mikhail Fradkov made a number of statements bound with further activity of the government. He made public urgent steps of the Cabinet – forming structures of the Cabinet of Ministers, deep analysis of real sector of economy, analysis in the social sphere, support of science and training of personnel. He also stated that after consultations with the parliamentarians he would present to the head of state his suggestions on structural changes and reforming the new government, as well as the program of activity of the new Cabinet for near future.
