Minister: Azerbaijan once again proves itself as a sporting nation

“By hosting major international sporting events Azerbaijan once again proves itself as a sporting nation and attracts more and more tourists,” Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has told journalists.
Minister Rahimov said that this year Azerbaijan will host BMX World Championship on June 5-9, European edition of the Olympic Games gymnastics qualifying tournaments on June 22-23, World Judo Championships in September and for the first time the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championship on November 17-18.”
He also said that for the first time the Global Forum of Young Leaders of the Special Olympics Movement will be held in Baku.
“If you look back at the beginning of 2018, you can see that we successfully hosted the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup on March 15-18, European Championships in Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini-Trampoline on April 12-15, International Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics, AGF Junior Trophy on April 23-24, FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup on April 27-29 and 2018 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which makes Azerbaijan one of the sporting nations in the world,” the minister added.
