Moroccan ambassador visits Azerbaijan`s Tovuz region
Baku, July 27 (AZERTAC). Ambassador of Morocco to Azerbaijan Hassan Hami visited the Tovuz region of the country.
Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva briefed the ambassador on the historical territories of the country, noting 20 percent of these lands had been occupied by Armenia.
Then, the Moroccan ambassador visited the Alley of Martyrs and city mosque.
Visiting Agdam village of the region bordering Armenia, Hami was informed that Armenia regularly violates ceasefire.
The Azerbaijani MP noted the importance of ambassador`s visit to Tovuz region.
The Moroccan ambassador also met with Tovuz governor Tofig Zeynalov as part of his visit. Zeynalov informed the guest on the geography, economy, and tourism potential of the region.
The sides highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between regions of Azerbaijan and Morocco.
Speaking in the meeting, Hami said his country is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. He stressed Morocco supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The ambassador also visited the “Metesh Tepe” area in Ashagi Ayibli village, where archeological excavations are being carried out.
