NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF IRAN MARKED IN BAKU
Ambassador of Islamic republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleymani spoke of the way of development passed after the Revolution, emphasizing that in these years Iran had achieved progress in the field of economy and culture, held worthy place in the world community.
Expressing satisfaction with the expanding relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, which are friendly and fraternal neighboring countries, the diplomat said mutual visits of the heads of states of both countries held at high level and talks are evidence to high level of bilateral relations. Official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Iran and the visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic opened new phase in the friendly and good neighboring relations, ground of which has been laid by the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
The Ambassador wished to the dynamically developing democratic and independent Republic of Azerbaijan and its people new successes.
Then, Speaker of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Ogtay Asadov congratulated on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev all the people of Iran on anniversary of the landmark event, conveyed best wishes of the head of the Azerbaijan state.
He said the relations between two countries are expanding. Realization of agreement reached during the official visit of Azerbaijan President to Iran in January last year, signed documents gave strong impulse to development of mutual relations.
At the official reception, participating were Ali Hasanov, head of the socio-political department of President Administration, ministers, Members of Parliament, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, representatives of international organizations, public figures.
