Participants of international conference visit Khojaly Genocide Memorial

Participants of the First International Scientific-Practical Conference dedicated to prominent Azerbaijani thinker and scholar Sheikh Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi Shirvani visited the Khojaly Genocide Memorial in the city of Khojaly.
The delegation was briefed on the Khojaly tragedy, one of the most heinous crimes of the 20th century.
The Khojaly Genocide Memorial project was implemented based on the concept prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It was built to perpetuate the memory of the tragedy victims, convey historical truths to future generations, and preserve national memory.
The participants were also detailed about the historical roots of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the policy of occupation and the consequences of Armenian terrorism in Azerbaijani lands, the history of Khojaly, the geography of the occupation, as well as the chronology of the conflict, the violation of norms of international law, and the Khojaly genocide - one of the bloodiest crimes committed against humanity at the exhibition hall.
