Peruvian newspaper highlights Azerbaijan's accomplishments

Peru-based El Peruano newspaper has published an article by famous journalist Julio Cesar Panduro highlighting Azerbaijan's achievements. Headlined "The pearl of the Caucasus", the article provides information about the 5th Baku Humanitarian Forum, which Panduro attended.
The article describes Azerbaijan as a rich country with ancient history, rich cultural legacy, fascinating architectural monuments, customs and traditions. "And the capital Baku, the city where antiquity meets with modernity, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world."
The article also highlights Azerbaijan's rapid development over 25 years of independence. Panduro says the country successfully channels revenues from the oil and gas industry into diversification of economy. "Azerbaijan with its achievements has become a role model for a number of Eurasian countries."
The article hails the excellent preservation of Icherisheher, saying the complex was included into UNESCO World Heritage List. The journalist also speaks of one of the symbols of Azerbaijan, the Maiden Tower, as well as new symbols of Baku, including Flame Towers and Seaside National Park.
He also praises hospitality of the Azerbaijani people. "Azerbaijan is a secular state, where Muslims make up the vast majority of the population, and where representatives of different nations and religions live in peace."
Panduro hails tolerance in the country. He underlines that Azerbaijan has hosted a number of international events, including Eurovision Song Contest, first ever European Games, Formula1 Grand Prix of Europe, Chess Olympiad, as well as international humanitarian forums.
"Azerbaijan declared 2016 the Year of Multiculturalism. The country will host the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games this year."
