President Ilham Aliyev offers condolences to Iranian counterpart

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolences to Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi over the heavy loss of lives as a result of a passenger train derailement in Iran.
"We were deeply saddened by the news of loss of lives and injuries as a passenger train derailed on the Mashad-Yazd railroad track," the head of state said in his message.
"Due to this tragedy, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I offer my deep condolences to you, families and loved ones of those who died and all the people of Iran, and wish the injured swiftest possible recovery," President Ilham Aliyev noted.
