I cordially congratulate the government and people of Your country on Your worthy election to the post of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Islamic Republic of Iran, in its principle policy based on peaceful co-existence, attaches an important place to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which has cultural, religious and historical commonness. I hope, the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, under the responsible and significant leadership of Your Excellency, will reach an increasing development and progress and we shall be eyewitnesses of deepening of the friendly relations between the two neighboring and fraternal countries in all fields.

I am certain that the new, all-round and friendly relations, foundation of which was laid during the Presidency of Heydar Aliyev will expand and develop dynamically. In the horizons of the Iranian-Azerbaijani relations, opened will be potential opportunities for cooperation in the bilateral, regional and international level. Of course, thanks to the support of Your Excellency, our relations in the new period will expand dynamically and strongly.

Finally, inviting Your Excellency to pay a visit to Iran, I wish You health and increasing successes, the honorable people of Azerbaijan - happiness and highness.
