Qatar’s “Al-Sharq” newspaper publishes Azerbaijani Ambassador’s interview

Qatar’s Arabic "Al-Sharq" newspaper has published an interview of Azerbaijani Ambassador Tofig Abdullayev on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador hailed Azerbaijani delegation’s participation in the international telecommunication exhibition to be held on December 7-10 in Doha and said signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the field of information and communication technologies, and organization of the first Azerbaijani-Qatar ICT Business Forum are also planned.
Praising high level relations between the two countries, Mr Abdullayev stressed the importance of signing bilateral documents after the establishment of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Doha. Touching upon the reciprocal visits, the Ambassador praised the intentions of the heads of two states to further develop and strengthen the bilateral relations.
Recalling Qatar as one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan, the diplomat noted that Doha clearly supported Azerbaijan’s position on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
T. Abdullayev also recalled Emergency, Interior, Economy and Industry Ministers recent visits to Qatar and said such visits would further continue. Touching upon the investment issues, the Ambassador called on Qatari investors to make investments in Azerbaijan.
Speaking about Azerbaijan's rich tourism potential, the diplomat expressed satisfaction with the significant increase in tourists’ visits from the date of the start of direct flights between Baku and Doha.
Noting favourable conditions for cooperation in the field of agriculture, the Ambassador stressed the existence of opportunities of all kinds in this sphere in Azerbaijan for Qatari investors.
