Rome conference highly estimates religious tolerance in Azerbaijan

Rome, December 11, AZERTAC

As earlier reported, a conference on “Religious co-existence in the Islamic tradition states, existence of different religions in Muslim country: Azerbaijani experience”, initiated by the Azerbaijan - Italian Parliamentary Working Group of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan and the Senate of Italy was held in the capital of Italy.

Attended by representatives of numerous political and religious organizations, as well as research centers, the conference discussed the current situation connected with the religious co-existence of the people of different religions in the Islamic state.

Speakers, including the members of Azerbaijani Parliament, members of Italian Senate, known religious figures, members of numerous communities and scholars noted the historically existent atmosphere of tolerance and secularism model of Azerbaijan as an example for world countries.

The conference continued in sessions to discuss the topical question - religious co-existence in the modern states.
