RUSSIA TO HAVE A NEW PREMIER
The parliament’s majority will most likely approve the candidacy on March 5. Even now, most Russian politicians, especially, activists of “Yedinaya Russia” party supported this candidacy. In politicians’ opinion, M. Fradkov is skilled and professional specialist who positively proved himself on the public service.
Mikhail Fradkov is now working as a special envoy of the RF President in the European Union. Before that, M. Fradkov held appointments in various economy-related ministries and departments, in particular, Federal Service of Tax Police, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Foreign Trade Links, Ministry of Economy and Development, and worked as a Security Council secretary of the Russian Federation.
On the eve of presidential elections, February 24, incumbent President Vladimir Putin fired a new government. Currently, deputy chairman of the Cabinet Viktor Khristenko temporarily discharges the duties of the chairman.
