SEMINAR-CONSULATION ON TOBACCO-CULTIVATION HELD
The seminar participants told about the reasons for gap in tobacco-cultivation, which had been one of the traditional sectors of the Republican economy, problems in its development, cultivation of up-to-date fragrant high-yielding brands, application of new technologies and professional enlightenment. Reports, proposals and remarks of the representatives of local executive power, farmers and tobacco receiving centers have been heard and taken into consideration. During the exchange of views on the matter, the producers complained about low purchasing prices for tobacco, while grievances of the processors and buyers were against its quality standards. It was noted that the help rendered to tobacco-growers by JSC ‘Gabala’ and its actions targeted to raising their interested motives are bearing positive results.
The seminar participants familiarized themselves with the tobacco brands cultivated in the Shaki Regional Center of the Agriculture Ministry and in the Base Station of the Scientific-Research Institute.
