Sharjah hosts first UAE–Azerbaijan Business Council meeting

Co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-UAE Joint Business Council - Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEs) and Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) held a meeting in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The sides discussed preparations for the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-UAE Joint Business Council, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation between the business circles of both countries and the implementation of joint projects. The potential of the Business Council is being widely used in priority areas for Azerbaijan, such as industry, agriculture, tourism, logistics and ICT.
Azerbaijan's SME Development Agency and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-UAE Joint Business Council in 2025.
The establishment of the Business Council aims to contribute to the development of economic relations between the two countries by promoting cooperation among the business circles of both countries and expanding relations in areas such as trade, investment, and industry.
Azerbaijan's SME Development Agency and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry also held a bilateral meeting to review the issues of cooperation with the chamber and the use of the capabilities of both institutions in developing relations between businesses.
Representatives of SMEs and relevant chambers, as well as businesspeople attended the meeting.
