SOCAR President visits Texas A&M University
Baku, December 8 (AZERTAC). The President of the Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev is visiting the US.
As part of the trip, the SOCAR delegation met with the Associate Vice President for External Affairs of Texas A&M University Chad Wootton.
The sides discussed SOCAR`s activity towards establishment of the Baku Petroleum Higher School. Abdullayev briefed the University`s official on the staff training programs carried out in the Company. He spoke of SOCAR`s large-scale investment projects in Europe and underlined importance of realization of joint projects with world`s leading universities. Abdullayev said there are great opportunities for joint cooperation with petroleum engineering department of the Texas A&M University.
In turn, Wootton informed the Azerbaijani delegation on Texas A&M University, adding existence of great potential for cooperation with SOCAR. The parties agreed on Texas A&M University delegation`s visit to Baku.
The SOCAR President also met with Texas Governor Rick Perry. They discussed establishment of the Baku Petroleum Higher School. The Texas Governor pointed out they would support SOCAR`s proposals towards joint activity with Texas A&M University-SOCAR.
