STRONG WIND DAMAGES POWER LINES IN BAKU
According to SC “Azerenergy”, the hurricane wind risen at night on February 24, caused considerable damage to electric power system of the Azerbaijan capital breaking 220 kV Sangachal and 4th Absheron Power Transmission Lines.
“In spite of the very complicated weather conditions, trouble crews have managed to finish repair works by 8 p.m. at Sangachal and by 11 p.m. at 4th Absheron Power,” Chief of Baku High Voltage Electric Supply Network Jahid Bagirov told AzerTAj correspondent. According to him, the power lines, which were put into operation mid last year, have no sufficient overload capability.
“The transmission lines supplying the greater part of Azizbekov district of the capital were entirely restored by the morning on February 24.” Mr. Bagirov added.
