Turkey to host international symposium on 400th anniversary of Evliya Chalabi
Baku, February 8 (AZERTAC). An international symposium on “The 400th anniversary of Evliya Chalabi” organized by Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be held in Kutahya, Turkey on March 23-26.
The aim of the symposium is to commemorate the outstanding Turkish traveler, geographer, historian, ethnographer and poet in his birth place.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has declared 2011 “Year of Remembrance Evliya Chalabi” within the 400th anniversary of the traveler.
The symposium will bring together over 40 scientists from 25 universities of Azerbaijan, France, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Cyprus, Egypt, Livan and Turkey.
The event will feature presentation of the film about the life and activity of Evliya Chalabi.
One of the sources in styding the geographic history and onomastic system of “Kitabi Dada Korkud”is Evliya Chalabi`s Seyahatname (Book of travels).
