UKRAINIAN DELEGATION VISITED NATIONAL MUSEUM OF CARPET AND APPLIED ART OF AZERBAIJAN
In detail informing visitors, director of a museum Roya Tagiyeva informed, that in 13 halls of the Museum created in 1967, it is shown about 15 thousand exhibits. These samples of art cover a long time interval - from the copper period up to now. Except for carpets art and metal products, national clothes, jeweler ornaments, samples of woodcarving, art sewing and other decorative art are here collected.
Having emphasized that the majority of exhibits of the Museum is made with carpets, R. Tagiyeva spoke of the national carpets and the Azerbaijan schools of carpet weaving. She informed, that the most ancient carpet stored in the Museum is a fragment concerning to XVII century of the Tebriz carpet.
Carpets and the samples of applied art brought from the Shusha branch of the Museum before occupation of the city also have been submitted to the visitors. It has been marked that the Armenian aggressors have plundered exhibits of 22 museums and 4 picture galleries at the occupied territories.
The chief negotiator has presented to the Museum a copper tray with the image of the building of Ukrainian Rada.
The book “Image of Nizami in the carpets” was presented to the visitors.
The delegation was accompanied by the ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Talat Aliyev, the ambassador of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Boris Aleksenko.
