V WORLD CONGRESS OF RUSSIAN PRESS ECHOED OVER THE WORLD
The author writes, “I can say with certainty that unity between journalists and publishers representing Russian language media has never reached this high level as that was in the V World Congress of Russian Press held in Baku. Representatives of 45 countries have gathered in Baku on the initiative of the World Association of Russian Press and ITAR-TASS. Azerbaijani side, as a host country, demonstrated to us, in true sense of the word, how to adjust work with media, clear hurdles with mass media, emerging on the ways of democracy and progress, reach society’s development.”
“No doubt, Ilham Aliyev can be one of the leading politicians not only in the Caucasus but in the world as well”, - she added.
Chairman of the Publishers’ Council Vadim Rabinovich describes his meeting with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev; “We spoke with a mature leader, in addition, - leader of the new generation. He answered all questions clearly. Answers to our questions (irrespective of its relevance to politics and journalists) pointed out to the fact that Ilham Aliyev is aware of those issues. Ilham Aliyev possesses a lambent sense of humor and wittily jokes. Secondly, I want to digress. At the time we took pictures, in accordance with protocol norms, one of members of our delegation gave his camera and asked to take picture of him. After the photographer took our picture, we made our way to the doorway but at that moment, Ilham Aliyev stopped us, “There were no flash, we can not leave our guest embarrassed. Let’s take a picture once more.” This was not a gesture in favor of image. It was felt how warmly Prime Minister takes care of the guests. I was personally impressed much. Only a sincere person can do so. We all found a friend in Azerbaijan.”
