Vatican hospital chief: We are ready for cooperation in pediatrics

A delegation led by Tiziano Onesti, President of the Board of Directors of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, who is visiting Azerbaijan, toured Azerbaijan Medical University.
During the meeting, Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, Professor Garay Garaybayli, briefed the Vatican delegation on the large-scale healthcare reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan and key ongoing projects aimed at the sustainable development of the sector.
Highlighting the importance of global cooperation in healthcare, particularly in pediatrics, the rector noted that international partnerships play a crucial role in advancing national health systems and sharing modern medical knowledge. He added that the university is always interested in developing such collaborations.
Tiziano Onesti outlined the purpose of the visit, stressing the importance of enhancing international cooperation in this field and expressing readiness to collaborate with Azerbaijan, including with Azerbaijan Medical University, in pediatrics.
Following a broad exchange of views on issues of mutual interest and potential areas of cooperation, the Vatican delegation toured the university’s Teaching Surgical Clinic and familiarized themselves with the facilities of the Neonatology Department.
