VENICE COMMISSION WELCOMES LAST ORDER OF AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT CONNECTED WITH ELECTIONS
In the document, the Venice commission highly has estimated the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev connected to preparation for parliamentary elections forthcoming on November 6 in Azerbaijan. Mark of fingers by ink during elections, granting of the sanction to observe the course of elections by the nongovernmental organizations are marked as a positive step. It is specified that all this follows from the 64th plenary session of the Venice Commission (October 21-22) last recommendations of the Venice Commission and OSCE, connected with amendments to the Election Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.
In spite of the fact that before elections there was not enough time, the Commission hopes, that the mentioned changes and a number of initiatives which will be shown by directing bodies, will comprehensively promote creation on November 6 free conditions for elections and carrying out of them transparent, and the said fact has found the reflection in the document.
In summary, the Commission hopes that an exchange of opinions on other questions connected to the problem of elections becomes a theme of discussions during the further cooperation with the government of the Azerbaijan Republic.
