Vestas eyes collaboration with Azerbaijan on wind turbine production

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has met with Vice President of Sales East at Vestas NCE Jens Pinderup.
The meeting revolved around renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan and the potential for production and export of green energy and green hydrogen.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the development of the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor project and the Azerbaijan- Türkiye-Europe Energy Corridor.
Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted that the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation capacity is set to increase to 30% by 2030. He emphasized the importance of cooperating with foreign investors to swiftly construct wind-solar power plants and acquire energy equipment. This collaboration aims to achieve the goal of exporting 4 GW of "green energy" to Europe from Azerbaijan in the initial stage.
Highlighting the abundant offshore wind energy potential in Azerbaijan, the minister stressed the urgent need for wind turbine production. He underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to cooperating with Vestas in this regard.
Shedding light into the activities of the company, which boast more than 40 years of experience spanning over 80 countries, Vice President of Sales East at Vestas NCE Jens Pinderup highlighted the company's proposals for several types of turbines, and expressed the company`s interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan.
