VISIT OF PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV TO KAZAKHSTAN
MEETING WITH PRIME MINISTER
Having sincerely welcomed the distinguished guest, the Prime Minister noted that since independence, Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations established by Heydar Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev have been successfully developing especially in economic sphere. “Cooperation between the two countries within the frameworks of the oil and gas projects has promising perspectives,” he said.
D. Ahmadov told of the activity aimed at Kazakhstan’s joining the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project and quick completion of the Baku –Aktau transport corridor, as well as announced his delegation’s March visit to Baku to specify a number of issues under consideration of the relevant intergovernmental commission.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed great satisfaction with the visit, pointed out the full mutual understanding achieved at his meeting with President Nursultan Nazarbayev as to the sphere of transport, increase in goods turnover and transportation of energy resources, and noted the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, after putting into operation, is also planned to be used for delivery of Kazakh gas to Europe. “I am sure that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will soon become main gas transporters,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
Expressing satisfaction with the intergovernmental commission’s work and stressing the necessity of continuation of its activity, President Ilham Aliyev also pointed out significance of the Kazakh delegation’s visit to Baku.
During the meeting, the parties noted that economic potential of both countries creates wide opportunities for further cooperation between them, as well as exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
