World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day marked in Netherlands

Azerbaijan`s Embassy in the Netherlands has organized a reception to mark the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and New Year.
On the sideline of reception, the Netherlands-Azerbaijani Cooperation Platform (NACP) founded by the public of the Netherlands was presented.
President of NACP Arnold Utama said the Platform will cover bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the economic, social, humanitarian and other fields. NACP will bring together all people and people groups wishing to cooperate. The Platform, at his words, will also promote to bring Azerbaijani historical-cultural values, the truth connected to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to the Dutch public.
Several round-tables with the participation of Azerbaijani ambassador to the Netherlands Mir-Hamza Afandiyev, the Congress of Benilux Azerbaijanis, Azerbaijan-Turkish Cultural Society, the Dutch Friends of Azerbaijan Program was held.
Addressing the event, ambassador Mir-Hamza Afandiyev spoke of the history of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, announced by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The diplomat stressed the significance of the Solidarity Day in terms of strengthening activities and relations of Diaspora organizations.
Afandiyev said solidarity of Azerbaijanis of the world today was manifested not only in the emotional feelings and sensations, but more - in the national and political unity, practical steps and concrete results, filled with real content
He highlighted the role of Diaspora organizations in ensuring the rights of his compatriots living in foreign countries, the dissemination of objective information about Azerbaijan and protection of the public interest has risen significantly.
Afandiyev said Azerbaijan`s government, as always, would continue to support Diaspora organizations in this direction.
The Ambassador described the year 2014 as fruitful and successful for the bilateral relations to promote boosting cooperation between the two countries.
