5th CASPIAN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION “BANKING & FINANCE” STARTS IN BAKU

The 5th Caspian International Conference and Exhibition “Banking & Finance” started at the Grand Hotel Europe in Baku.

The event is organized by Iteca Caspian, ITE group PLC (Great Britain) and ITE LLC Moscow, and is designed to create opportunities for dialogue among banks and other financial institutions.

It will also focus on current problems existing in the world`s financial and economic markets.

Speaking to the conference`s opening ceremony, Azerbaijani deputy minister of economic development Sevinj Hajiyeva said the holding of the conference in Baku will help boost the country`s banking system.

She said Azebaijan`s GDP grew 13.4 percent in the first two months of the current year.

According to Hajiyeva, a large number of banks and other financial institutions operating in Azerbaijan has good cooperative relations with international financial institutions, including the International Monetary fund, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and German KfW bank.

Following the opening ceremony, participants viewed the exhibition.
