TVP World highlights legacy of Polish architects in Baku

Poland’s “TVP World” news portal has published an article dedicated to Azerbaijan’s historical and architectural legacy, as well as the role of Polish architects in shaping the city of Baku.

The article, titled “Secretly Polish: The Polish architects behind the ‘Paris of the Caucasus’” and authored in English by Ramiz Salimov, details the activities of architects of Polish origin in Azerbaijan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the famous historical landmarks they constructed across Baku.

The article highlights the history of Azerbaijan during that period, focusing on the unique architectural features of Baku and the significant contributions of Polish architects to defining the city's skyline.

Emphasizing Baku’s distinct architectural style and historical character, the article underlines that the city earned the title "Paris of the Caucasus.” It also examines the historical ties between Azerbaijan and Poland, framing the bonds between the two nations through the lens of architectural legacy and the development of Baku at the turn of the 20th century.
