Azerbaijani Deputy PM meets with Russian Government representatives

As part of a visit to Russia, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of the development of Azerbaijan-Russia trade and economic cooperation. The importance of regular high-level contacts in advancing bilateral relations and expanding practical cooperation was emphasized.
The sides exchanged views on advancing cooperation in trade, the economy, and investment, as well as on prospects for further cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and logistics.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as decisions adopted at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, held in Zangilan on April 16.
The sides explored measures to increase bilateral trade turnover and expand trade and economic relations, emphasizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for businesses in both countries.
The development of transport links and ways to improve the efficiency of bilateral freight transportation were also discussed, along with opportunities to make greater use of the potential of the International North-South Transport Corridor. The sides also addressed the operation of border crossing points and measures to improve procedures for the passage of freight and vehicles through these points.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for implementing mutually beneficial projects of practical interest to Azerbaijan and Russia. The importance of continuing efforts to further develop economic cooperation was emphasized.
The sides also underscored the importance of maintaining regular contacts between the relevant government institutions of the two countries to ensure the timely consideration and resolution of practical matters across all areas of bilateral cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to continue joint efforts in areas of mutual interest. The meeting was held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere.
During the visit, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev also met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. The meeting addressed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, with particular attention to cooperation in trade and the economy, including industry, energy, transport, and logistics.
Shahin Mustafayev also met with Emin Agalarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council, and Alexey Repik, Chairman of the Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council. The discussions focused on expanding Azerbaijan-Russia economic, trade, and investment ties.
