8 killed after tornado hit Hainan, China

At least eight people died and one was seriously injured as a tornado lashed a township in China's southernmost island province of Hainan early Thursday morning, local authorities said, according to Xinhua.
The tornado hit Nada Township in the city of Danzhou at around 4 a.m. A workers' shed in a construction site collapsed, with eight people killed. One person suffered serious injuries and another person was slightly injured.
The province has sent a team to the site to guide the search and rescue work.
