About a month ago, an enlarge meeting was held with regard to development of Baku villages. As you know, it is already two years that the Program of regional development has been realizing in Azerbaijan, and large-scale construction/improvement activities are in progress, as a matter of fact, in all regions of the country. Along with construction of roads, gas lines and power stations, the relevant infrastructure is being created, as well. In addition, construction of new medical and diagnostic Centers has begun in a number of cities and districts of Azerbaijan. And I thought that this program covers regions, but Baku suburbs and villages seemed to remain aloof. It was the reason that the session was held for a month ago, and relevant instructions were given. At the moment, a large-scale development program is being worked out, and I hope this program will be prepared by next January, and we will approve it for all needs of the Baku villages to be satisfied. New roads, medical centers, schools, power stations will be constructed, gas lines will be laid, and water supply improved. In other words, we are approaching these problems comprehensively. The first step of this program has just been taken. Despite the program has not yet been approved, I decided on holding this ceremony on the New Year eve to spur construction of the Health Center. We have just done it today. I am hopeful that a beautiful Health Center will be built and commissioned here in a very short period of time. People will bee provided in here with high quality medical service.
Azerbaijan is now experiencing its rapid progress. We exerted our every effort towards strengthening economy, and the results of 2005 have demonstrated its rapid growth this year. Of course, it creates additional possibilities, and brings extra assets. We should use these possibilities, first of all, to create firm social infrastructure in our country. Hospitals, schools, roads, gas and water supply are what the people are concerned about most. I do not doubt we will achieve it as all the programs adopted so far are being realized. Salaries pensions are on the rise, beautiful blocks, hospitals and schools are being constructed. I believe the today’s ceremony symbolizes the new stage of Baku suburbs’ and villages’ development. I congratulate all of you on this occasion. I wish that everything would be all right, and nobody would be ill the new year. But those who, however, fall sick should know they have an excellent Health Center at their disposal.
Taking this opportunity I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. At the same time, December 31 is the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. I congratulate you on this occasion also. I wish you good health and success. Thank you.
