ADDRESS ON ARMENIAN VANDALISM ADOPTED
The address informs on the consequences of the Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan begun in late 80’s of the last century including occupation of 20% of the Azerbaijan’s territory, death of over 20 thousand and wounding of hundreds of thousand people, one million refugees and internally displaced persons, nearly 900 ruined settlements, and fully destroyed infrastructure.
The document highlights that the Armenian government is engaged in ruthless destruction or “armenization” of historical, architectural and cultural monuments, and committing acts of vandalism against sacred places and cemeteries in the territory of the Western Azerbaijan now called the Armenian Republic, thereby trying to eliminate all that could point to belonging to Azerbaijan.
The address cites the following data: eliminated in the occupied territories were 464 historical, architectural and cultural monuments, 22 museums and 4 painting galleries, 9 palaces of historical significance, 44 places of worship, 18 mosques and 927 libraries containing 4,6 million books and manuscripts.
The participants of the round-table demanded from international organizations and influential states to take the most resolute measures to prevent the acts of vandalism continuing in both occupied Azerbaijani lands and territories in Armenia formerly settled by Azerbaijanis.
