AMBASSADOR OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS INDONESIAN TRANSPORT MINISTER
Ibrahim Hajiyev informed the Indonesian Minister of Azerbaijan’s internal and foreign policy, and the economic progress that the country is making.
The Ambassador said Azerbaijan today enjoys growing international prestige, and stressed the country’s leading role in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipelines.
Mr. Hajiyev noted that inauguration of the BTC pipeline, which is scheduled to take place on July 13 in Ceyhan, Turkey, will be attended by presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan and high-ranked officials from other countries.
Ibrahim Hajiyev also spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, and expressed his gratitude to Indonesia for supporting Azerbaijan’s equitable stance on this dispute.
Minister Hatta Rajasa, in his turn, said he wants to visit Baku to familiarize himself with the situation in the country, and discuss ways to further develop the bilateral relations.
Mr. Rajasa offered to prepare and sign several bilateral agreements on cooperation in other fields of transport.
