AMERICAN AZERBAIJANI HONORARY DOCTOR OF AZERBAIJAN ACADEMY
At the recently held sitting, the NASA president Mahmud Karimov presented him the Diploma of Honorary Doctor.
Speaking at the sitting, members of the Presidium noted remarkable contributions of scholar. As stated, Abas Chaykhorsky has graduated form the Leningrad University in 1948, researched in the field of nuclear energy under academician Kurchatov. He has been the chairman of the commission on peaceful use of nuclear energy in the USSR.
Mr. Chaykhorsky is the author of the only monograph in the field of neptunium chemistry in the world. He has been working since 1969 on the new periodic system of elements and obtained good results. He has brought the fifth quantum number to chemistry.
Scientific inventions of the renowned scientist are used in the leading world countries. He often comes to Baku to cooperate with Azerbaijani scientists.
