Anniversary of Khojaly genocide to be marked in Lithuania
Baku, February 25 (AZERTAC). A series of actions dedicated to the 19th anniversary of Khojaly genocide will be held in Lithuania.
With the organizational support of Azerbaijan Embassy in this country the member of Lithuanian Seimas Mantas Varaska will organize commemorative actions in the secondary schools of the region from where he has been elected to Seimas. Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Lithuania N. Shahtaxtinskaya presented necessary materials to be distributed among the public to give full information on the massacre.
Azerbaijani students are going to arrange a commemorative party at the Kaunas University initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and with the support of the Embassy in this country.
The Lithuanian Seimas traditionally marks this tragic day of Azerbaijanis. And this year, the Seimas on 25 February will hold a commemorative ceremony to honor the victims of Khojaly genocide. Supported by the Azerbaijan Embassy in Lithuania and in the frame of the Justice for Khojaly campaign the deputy of Seimas Mantas Adomenas will make appropriate presentation to be attended also by deputies, public figures, students, Azerbaijanis living here. Participants will address leaders of Lithuania and some European countries to bring the genocide culprits to account, give political-legal assessment to the genocide.
