Apple`s annual profit soars 70 pct
Baku, October 20 (AZERTAC). In the current fiscal year, (for the quarter ended September 25) Apple`s net profit grew 70 percent to $14.01 billion versus $8.23 billion a year earlier.
Taking into account per share in last year`s net profit rose from $9.08 to $15.15.
Apple`s revenue in accounting period rose to $65.22 billion compared to 2008-2009 financial year -$42.90 billion.
Net income in the fourth quarter of fiscal year totaled $4.30 billion. This indicator made up $2.53 billion a year earlier. In terms of share, the figure was $4.64 and $2.77 respectively.
The company`s earnings for July-September reached a record level to $20.34 billion, almost twice more in comparison with the same period of previous year ($12.20 billion), RIA Novosti reports.
Apple attained high results in the fourth quarter, thanks to successful sale of iPhone smartphones - 14,1 million units, better than analysts` forecasts 12 million.
Sales of tablet computers iPad in July-September amounted to only 4.2 million units. Analysts predicted that at least five million of these devices would be sold.
However, experts say that Apple has no problem in sales, however the only question is supply of equipment, the current production capacity simply can not cope with the volume of orders.
