‘Armenia`s government must understand that it can not remain unpunished’
Baku, September 26 (AZERTAC). Armenian government must understand that a country, which occupies internationally recognized territory of the other country, cannot go unpunished in the 21st century, said President Ilham Aliyev in the international event to mark the country`s 20th anniversary of independence.
“We come to such a conclusion that Armenia intends to drag out the negotiation process as much as possible and keep the status-quo,” the President said.
The Head of State considers the status-quo ‘unacceptable’. The Azerbaijani leader said leaders of Minsk group co-chair countries also reiterated the need for the change in the status-quo.
President Ilham Aliyev described this fact as a ‘strong message’ by the international community to Armenia.
The Head of State said his country has many times reiterated its stance concerning peaceful resolution of the conflict.
“Unlike Armenian leadership, we sincerely take part in the negotiations,” the President underscored.
