Arshin Mal Alan screened in London

London, February 9 (AZERTAC). The King’s College London is hosting a free screening of Arshin Mal Alan (The Cloth Peddler), supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UK, Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum (ASAIF) and The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS).

Made in 1945, and based on the famous 1913 operetta by Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the film achieved international popularity. It stars renowned Azerbaijani lyric tenor Rashid Behbudov. The film has recently been digitally restored and colorized to commemorate the centenary of the operetta.
