AZANS brings together region’s air navigation leaders in Hungary

A high-level meeting on strengthening air traffic coordination within the Regional Air Navigation Safety Coordination Platform for European and Asian ANSPs (SOCEA), under the chairmanship of the “Azeraeronavigation” Air Traffic Control Department (AZANS) of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) CJSC, one of the companies of AZCON Holding, was held in Budapest, Hungary.
Heads of air navigation service providers, including “Uzaeronavigatsia,” “Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia,” “Kazaeronavigatsia,” Türkiye’s State Airports Authority (DHMİ), and “HungaroControl,” participated in the event.
The gathering featured discussions on expanding interregional cooperation, improving management approaches, and coordinating efforts to ensure flight safety.
Participants reviewed the impact of global and regional developments on air traffic, as well as issues related to ensuring uninterrupted operations under changing conditions.
The event also included discussions on the safe and sustainable organization of air transportation, information exchange, and strengthening inter-agency coordination mechanisms.
The attendees noted that coordinated management of the increasing Europe-Asia flight flows is of particular importance for the safe and uninterrupted operation of air traffic in the region.
On September 11, 2025, at the SOCEA General Assembly held in Almaty, the Director of AZANS was elected President of the organization, and the chairmanship was officially transferred from Türkiye to Azerbaijan.
