Azerbaijan, Algeria discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has met Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy of Algeria and Algerian representative in OPEC Ahmed Messili to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Aliyev hailed relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria, and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits and meetings in terms of expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Highlighting the economy of Azerbaijan, the Minister lauded the country`s favorable geographical position, modern transport infrastructure and great economic potential. Mr. Aliyev also spoke about regional energy projects, as well as the role of Azerbaijan in ensuring energy security of Europe.
Highlighting the economy of Algeria and projects carried out in the country, Ahmed Messili noted that there were great opportunities for implementing joint projects in the fields of energy, industry, investment, as well as education and exchange of experience.
The sides also discussed how to develop economic cooperation between the two countries and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
