Azerbaijan, Algeria discuss prospects for energy cooperation

Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov has met with Prime Minister of People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Aymen Benabderrahmane.
Speaking at the meeting, PM Aymen Benabderrahmane hailed President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the 31st Arab League Summit as an indicator of high level of relations between the two countries and asked to convey the greetings of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to the President of Azerbaijan.
Minister Parviz Shahbazov emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev pays a special attention to the development of comprehensive, including energy cooperation with Algeria. "The bilateral discussions held and the cooperation document signed in the field of oil and gas within the framework of this visit contribute to the implementation of this policy", he said.
The sides also stressed the importance of developing the economic relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria. They also exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the field of energy, and it was emphasized that the necessary support will be provided by the Algerian government to achieve progress in this area.
