Baku, September 10, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan produced 33 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in the first eight months of 2024, with 8.7 bcm coming from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) fields and 18.1 bcm from Shah Deniz, according to the Ministry of Energy. Absheron contributed 1.1 bcm, while SOCAR produced 5.1 bcm. Gas transportation saw an increase of 0.8 bcm compared to the same period last year.
Gas sales during this period amounted to approximately 16.4 bcm, reflecting a 3.1% increase compared to 2023. Of this, nearly 6.5 bcm was sold to Türkiye, 8.4 bcm to Europe, and 1.5 bcm to Georgia. Additionally, 3.7 bcm of gas was exported to Türkiye via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz fields until September 1, 2024, Azerbaijan has extracted 643 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 452.2 bcm of gas. Of this, 595.8 million tons of oil and 225 bcm of gas were from ACG, while Shah Deniz contributed 227.2 bcm of gas and 47.2 million tons of condensate. In total, Azerbaijan has exported approximately 641.2 million tons of oil (including condensate) and about 162 bcm of gas to date.
