Azerbaijan eyes to expand ties with OTS and Balkans competition authorities

A delegation led by Elnur Baghirov, Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid a working visit to Istanbul.
As part of the trip, the delegation participated in a workshop on the theme “Best practices on abuse of dominant position,” organized by the Turkish Competition Authority.
The event was designed to expand cooperation and strengthen ties with the competition authorities of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the countries of the Balkan region.
The event featured discussions and presentations on experience of detecting, evaluating, and decision-making regarding abuse of a dominant position.
Shamsi Rzali, the Agency's Head of Department, highlighted the measures undertaken by the State Agency to promote and ensure a competitive environment in Azerbaijan in its capacity as the national competition authority.
